I tried mounting a transducer in the front hatch of a Fishing Kayak (like Riot Mako or Vibe Kayak) with limited results. Where is the best spot to mount the transducer?

If you do want to mount it in a hatch in the hull then follow this method. In this video he uses a Jackson kayak to walk through it all, but covers a lot of different hull shapes and designs. That transducer needs to be flat against the hull with no gaps or air pockets. This is a good video.
